A conference dedicated to responsible tourism
This theme is an extension of actions carried out around the world since 2017, which the United Nations calls “The International Year for Sustainable Tourism for Development.”
Sustainable tourism promotes economic, environmental and social development. Higher education has a key role to play here: amongst the 17 actions to put in place before 2030, the UN has included access to quality education, that aims to improve daily lives of all and encourage sustainable development.
In a context where corporate social responsibility is growing, to comply with clients who are more and more attentive to sustainable actions, all future professionals in hospitality and tourism must thus hold all the keys to build an industry in which profit cannot be measured merely by economic growth.
Sustainable development at Vatel
Vatel Group is accompanying these changes, by giving students for instance, the possibility of specializing in Ecotourism Management at Vatel Morondava (Madagascar), in their last MBA year. As for Vatel Bordeaux students, they are already directly immersed in sustainable development, as the school’s 4* application hotel has been awarded the EU Ecolabel certification.
